Ophelia Deroy

Ophelia Deroy specializes in philosophy of mind and cognitive neuroscience and is an expert on inner conflict. She holds professorships in the Munich Center for Neurosciences and the Faculty of Philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. She also collaborates with art institutions and creatives, such as Tate Galleries in London, the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, Biotopia in Munich, the chef Heston Blumenthal and the insect activist Ben Reade. Her work has been widely covered by the media including the BBC, NPR and The New York Times and she is a regular speaker at public science events such as the Hay Festival.

Deroy is currently at work, with co-author Bahador Bahrami, on a book titled Indecision: The Benefits of Not Making Up Your Mind, to be published in 2024 by Bloomsbury (US) and Bodley Head (UK).
